Appearance
Kudzu is a climbing, deciduous, coarse vined, long lived perennial legume capable of growing to heights of over 100 feet and covering the ground with long runners. Kudzu vines are killed by frost, so it is not currently present in Pratt County. Prevalent in the southeastern United States, it has been found in the extreme southeast part of Kansas and due to is ability to grow over and smother all other vegetation including trees, it is listed as a noxious weed for the state of Kansas.
