Mission Statement

The mission of the Pratt County Emergency Management office is to maintain a high level of preparedness, to protect the citizens of Pratt County; to mitigate loss of life and vital assets prior to, during, and the immediate aftermath of a disaster; and to facilitate the speedy recovery of Pratt County in the mid and long term intervals following a disaster.

About Pratt County Emergency Management

It is the function of the Pratt County Emergency Management office to coordinate emergency response activities with various agencies at all levels of government. This includes volunteer and civic organizations, local businesses, educational institutions and other response agencies when emergencies or disasters happen within the county. The act of coordination is not only during the response phase of a disaster, but through the planning, preparedness and mitigation phases as well.
While local response agencies have plans in place to respond to a disaster or emergency, it is just as important for individuals, families and businesses to have emergency plans in place as well. Disasters can happen anytime and anywhere. When a disaster strikes, you may not have much time to prepare or respond. In a large-scale disaster, local officials and relief workers will not be able to reach everyone immediately. Help could come in hours, or it may take days. Will your family or business be ready? If you would like more information on how to prepare your family or business please contact our office, visit the KSReady.Gov website at http://www.ksready.gov or the FEMA/Citizen Corps website at http://www.ready.gov.
